Both through the app and from the purchase link on the richsomerfield.com site, I get an error of the Paddle page as soon as I land. What's a good way to license while that is being resolved?

Sorry you are having issues. I've done a quick check and I think it is because I need to update to the latest Paddle library. I'll look to do that as soon as possible.

In the interim (or as a long-term alternative), if you don't need the advanced features of TextBar, then there is an open-source app called xbar that can put text into your menu bar. You may wish to look at that (especially as it is free)... https://github.com/matryer/xbar#get-started
