Project seems dead. Is there an alternative?

This project doesn't seem to be relevant any more. Is there an alternative that is up-to-date?

@abhaystoic - I'm going to try out Mongoosastic. https://github.com/mongoosastic/mongoosastic

It's a bit better maintained. I haven't gotten to using it yet, so can't say if it is good or not.
