tried all config variants , script keeps on telling "scan returned empty file list; check that path exists and contains files in scope of configuration."

eicar samples are not found

STOP WASTING TIME OF OTHER PEOPLE !!!

DELETE OR FIX YOUR PROJECT !


to the annoyed users:

Use clamav with the supplied database ( or e.g. the debian package clamav-unofficial-sigs ) , the maldet script is obvious nonsense, but the DB might have some unseen signatures

commercial scanners AT LEAST SCAN , compared to this crapware , so stop celebrating yourself on your website
