• [ ] CMake option LLVM_APPEND_VC_REV=Off should be enough to exclude the git remote from llvm-config --version
• [ ] investigate LLVM_ENABLE_ABI_BREAKING_CHECKS which might help with the public ABI changing depending whether NDEBUG is set
