Compatibility with latest wordpress

Hi, I'm trying to implement this to our wordpress based website and getting "commenting disabled" error. I did not install wordpress JSON API plugin, as it is not being maintained and may not be compatible with latest wordpress. Besides, wordprss now has their own REST API. Can you update the plugin to reflect present changes? Thanks in advance.
