Datepicker style updates

The datepicker needs some UX and style updates

  • [ ] add hover states for dates
  • [ ] add a close button so users will know how to dismiss the calendar dropdown

I've added in the CSS for the hover, but there is a slight delay for some unknown reason. See branch 228-datepicker-style-updates
