A proposal to add the Chinese calendar to polyglossia
Since Chinese (and Korean, Vietnamese, etc.) people need the Chinese calendar (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Chinese_calendar&oldid=1131931958), I hope that it can be added to polyglossia since I am Chinese and the Chinese calendar is necessary to the Chinese. (Note: actually the Chinese calendar varies slightly from China to Korea and Vietnam. See [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Chinese_calendar&oldid=1131931958].)
FWIW babel just got a Chinese calendar. This might serve as a model: https://github.com/latex3/babel/commit/85c92358e9b80f6c8d041aece0669b7c64552191
The names of (Leap) Month 11 and (Leap) Month 12 should be further discussed. Besides, if dates before 1912 are supported, support for Chinese era names might be considered. (I just woke up and I will get asleep a few minutes later. Further discussion is expected to be on the morning of Sep 1st (UTC+8).)

@Y-Z-Chen Please, for further discussion on the babel
support for the Chinese calendar (and dates) open an issue here. See also What’s new in babel 3.93.
