Allow removing whitespace to left of navigation items if icons aren't being used

I realize this might be difficult to implement, especially in projects where icons may be being used in a hybrid fashion (sometimes used and sometimes not), but it would be great if the option existed, perhaps on a page-by-page basis, if possible, to remove the extra whitespace to the left of the navigation items if icons aren't being used. The only reason I began using icons at all was because the navigation looked weird with all the extra whitespace. I have some rather lengthy titles, so it would be great if we could have the option to choose whether we wanted to use an icon or not and if not, reclaim that extra space.
