Is InstantClick a future-proof solution?

Hi there,

InstantClick provides nice features but:

• the Github repo is inactive for 6 years
• the SSL certificate is broken on the main site

Is it a future-proof piece of JS to embed in papermodX?

Turbo seems to be an actively maintained alternative: https://github.com/hotwired/turbo

Author seems to be on a break at the moment, curious how much effort it would be to replace that, theoretically

Instant click is a legacy and author explained why here (see History):

InstantClick is unfortunately mostly just a proof of concept as it doesn’t have good documentation.

Google’s release of quicklink in December 2018, which preloads links with as soon as they are shown, made it clear that I should focus on building a “lite”, easier to use version of InstantClick, which is instant.page, launched in February 2019.

So, ideally, it should be removed.
