Easer starts in background even it is disabled

Open Tobias-B-Besemer opened this issue 5 years ago • 8 comments

I have Easer deactivted in the settings, but from time to time it starts by it self in the background.

I have activated log, but there is only to read that the app got started, not e.g. the event that triggered it.

Can you improve the log in this way, that it logs more info why it starts (e.g. trigger)? I guess it have something to do with sleep mode of the phone, but I'm not sure...

I'm now using app version 0.7.7.6-beta on a Samsung Galaxy S9 with Stock ROM Android 9, but I will switch the next weeks to LineageOS 16 and I'm not sure if the error (if it e.g. comes from Samsung Energie Management) will there appear, too. So if you can e.g. provide a debugging APK with enhanced logging features in the next weeks, I will log the issue before I switch ROM.

Thanks for reporting this! That seems really strange, but yes I believe we can try to narrow the problem down.

I guess there may be some problem with the internal connections between components.

Anyway, I'll try to provide a debugging version recently.

same here. Each time the phone is started, Easer starts up with script state running.

settings:

  • run service in foreground is disabled
  • autostart at boot is disabled
  • root is off Android 8.0.0

Same for me!

Also: The system notification is white, while I have night mode and the system notification disappear after some time. I filled the issues #270 & #271 for it.

Oh, btw.: Still have this issue with v0.7.8-beta3.

I was having some trouble when designing better debugging information, so unfornatutely the dedicated debug version is not there yet.

But I had a re-read of the description just now, and find something strange: On Android 8.0+, you should not be able to disable "run in foreground". There is a condition check of the system version to prevent Android 8+ users from disabling that setting! (Because Android 8 requires "run in foreground" for any apps.)

@f-re, could you please check back if that was a typo?

See it too on Android 7 upon phone restart. BTW having "run in foreground" ON, I don't know it interferes anything.

Can confirm that app starts every time I reboot my phone on Android 11

Happening for me on stock Android 13 on a Samsung as well. Autoruns every boot despite autostart being disabled.
