Have we considered making this gem more SEO friendly?
Hi, Her is a terrific gem that we use with multiple repos at our company. One of the constant complaints from people who join our org is that its really hard to search for issues or get support using tools like Google/SO cause the keywords are extremely generic... e.g. "her model" "her ruby model", "ruby her". In fact, we have seen that the wiki/readme that contains a link to this repo is visited ~18 times a month solely for the purpose of getting to this repo since its so hard to reach it from google if you dont remember the keyword "remiprev".
Is there any possibility at all of changing the name from her to something more specific? like maybe "HerORM" or "HerRubyORM" or even just "rubygem-her" ?
More examples of searches that return nothing relevant in the first page:
"her model doesnt connect to endpoint"
"her model doesnt load"
Adding "ORM" to the search term directs to this repo, but still no useful SO/blogs etc:
her orm doesnt connect to endpoint
her orm model doesnt load
It is difficult to search and also just strikes me as an odd name to use for this type of project.
@TDA @stevensona - @zacharywelch and I agree and have discussed a name change. Haven't got around to it, though. Wouldn't be a small job if we changed the namespaces; we could also do with some help on updating the docs. PRs (and name suggestions) welcome.
@stevensona @TDA I'm very conscious we haven't done anything about this. If it's still something you'd like to tackle, we would love to receive a PR with a suggested name change implemented.
@edtjones Apologies for not having responded earlier on this. I no longer work with my old org and haven't worked on RoR in a while. I have reached out to my old team to see if someone can pick this up. I will work with them to get a PR ready for this. Thank you so much!
