Cannot mass set source metadata?

I checked the -help for upload-media and just want to confirm no easy way to set source metadata? In my case all images from this directory can be sourced from a single DeviantArt gallery. Will take a looong time to do 1000+ images :/

Does this relate to https://github.com/reluce/szurubooru-toolkit/issues/45?

Would the provided code in https://github.com/reluce/szurubooru-toolkit/issues/45#issuecomment-1962819639 be a suitable solution? If so, I can provide an extra flag for the upload-media script to look for .json or .txt files with the same name as the image to be uploaded.
