In FAT there is no information about filename letters case (unless [LFN](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_filename) feature is used). That's why vfat driver has `shortname` option. Note that this option does not affect LFNs....

Just checked that F-Droid successfully builds and verifies 15.3.0-FINAL and 15.3.1-beta-2. JARs are still the only issue preventing Zom from being on F-Droid.
