Changing keyboard layouts on Wayland?

Changing keyboard layouts doesn't work on Wayland. The default shortcut (Alt+Super+Backspace), or any other shortcut (mapped via the Xresources config / Regolith settings) simply don't switch the layout. Additionally, the keyboard_layout applet in the bar stays unchanged.

Manually changing the order of keyboard layouts in Regolith Settings works, but entering the settings app every time a layout change is needed is very time-consuming.
