Applications with windows have window tearing when using Regolith Desktop on Ubuntu 24.04 in an ESXi environment.

Describe the bug
Applications with windows show a black screen or flicker when using Regolith Desktop on Ubuntu 24.04 in an ESXi environment. This occurs after allocating 256MB of memory and using software rendering for 3D.
To Reproduce
- Install Ubuntu 24.04 on an ESXi VM.
- Allocate 256MB of memory to the VM.
- Set up Regolith Desktop (version: [insert version here]).
- Launch applications with windows.
Expected behavior
Applications should render correctly without a black screen or flickering.

It's noteworthy that the flickering issue does not occur with other window managers such as Ubuntu or Ubuntu X11 or i3. Additionally, after disabling 3D, the application windows turned transparent, displaying only a slim frame around them.
I tried regolith-compositor-xcompmgr and that seemed to deal with the issue for now.
