BEFORE FILING A BUG REPORT: Ensure that you are running the latest git commit. Visit /info on your instance, and ensure the git commit listed is the same commit listed on the home page.

Describe the bug

I have received the following error when trying to access my home page (and all relative pages - hot, new, rising, top, controversial) for Redlib via Kavin.Rocks instance. I receive the following message: Failed to parse page JSON data: expected value at line 1 column 1 |....

Please advice if the issue is a matter of too many subreddit subscriptions, or if it is another matter entirely. It has been unusable for a few weeks now.

Steps to reproduce the bug

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. GO TO '...' - https://libreddit.kavin.rocks/settings/restore/?theme=system&front_page=default&layout=card&wide=off&blur_spoiler=off&show_nsfw=off&blur_nsfw=off&hide_hls_notification=off&video_quality=&hide_sidebar_and_summary=off&use_hls=on&autoplay_videos=off&fixed_navbar=on&disable_visit_reddit_confirmation=off&comment_sort=confidence&post_sort=hot&subscriptions=AskReddit%2Basoiaf%2Basoiaf_%2BAsoiafAI%2Basoiafart%2Basoiafcirclejerk%2Basoiafreread%2BaSongOfMemesAndRage%2BBooksThatFeelLikeThis%2Bcoys%2Bdarkwingsdankmemes%2BDynastyFF%2BFantasy%2BFantasy_Football%2Bfantasyfootball%2Bfootball%2BFootballCoach%2BFootballHoes%2Bfootballmanager%2Bfootballmemes%2Bfootballstrategy%2Bfreefolk%2Bgameofthrones%2Bgrrm%2Bhiphop%2BHotd%2BHouseOfTheDragon%2BImaginaryWesteros%2BKendrickLamar%2Bmemes%2BMusic%2BMusicRecommendations%2Bnaath%2Bnba%2BNeutralPolitics%2Bnews%2Bnfl%2BNFL_Draft%2BNFLBETS%2BNFLNoobs%2BNFLredzonestreams_hd%2BOldSchoolCoolMusic%2Bpolitics%2Bpureasoiaf%2Bpureasoiafart%2Brealsocialengineering%2BRomanceBooks%2Bseduction%2BSeductionMaestras%2BShowerthoughts%2Bsoccer%2BSocial_Engineering_%2BSocialEngineering%2BSpicyRomanceBooks%2BSpoiledASOIAF%2Bsportsbetting%2Bsuggestmeabook%2BTheOther14%2Btodayilearned%2BTottenham%2BTrue_asoiaf%2Bunpopularopinion%2Bvideos&filters=&hide_awards=off&hide_score=off&remove_default_feeds=

Additional context / screenshot

I have checked to ensure page says Instance is up to date.

  • [ ] I checked that the instance that this was reported on is running the latest git commit, or I can reproduce it locally on the latest git commit

Did you try another instance?

Please fill out the issue template, it's the only way I am able to debug anything :)

edit: i see, your explanations went in the comment section :P fixed

Hi Matthew,

Ohh man I thought I did. Sorry, not used to actually filling out an issue.

I have used other instances but had to manually subscribe to the subreddits I had on kavin.rocks.

Is there a way to import subscriptions in one go?

Best regards!

Yes, you can export and import settings in the settings page at the bottom:

Then, you can import them to new instances.

ATM, it's functionally impossible to debug the rate limiting error, as 1. I don't personally have permanent access to one of these IPs, and 2. it's unclear how you end up on the rate limit - whether by volume (nothing we can do), manual adding by Reddit, or by some heuristic (theoretically something I could make progress against). So for now I would recommend importing your subs to any other working instance, and if it breaks there too, then it's a bug.

Hi Matthew, I'm the operator of that instance here. The instance gets rate-limited for many days and gets out of the rate-limit after a few days/weeks.

If you'd like, I can give you access to the IP via a socks/http proxy which could help investigate this.

Thanks!
