CLI: Refactor git calls

Would like to refactor all git calls ($'git <some git command>' - where ' is a backtick) to use simple-git https://www.npmjs.com/package/simple-git and be more node/JS native, and even less reliant on bash.

Potentially yes. It depends on whether or not we refactor the entrypoint redkubes/unassigned-issues#249 If we do, the kubectl calls will be different anyway
