Companion bar not showing nearly ever.

I'm on a fully updated Fedora 15 x64 with chrome 12.0.742.124 (from google repo) with RES

the companion bar never shows on any reddit post i click through.

if i click the alien head in the address bar a few times it will show but then disappear for future posts.
