demo will not work using the latest version

Describe the bug

crash when fresh install in fresh react project and nothing is changed. Therefore unusable.

Steps to Reproduce the Bug or Issue

1. go to the demo in readme
2. change the version from 1.0.0 to 4.15.*
3. it will crash, error said keys is not a fucntion

Expected behavior

it should just work
