Pull Request Policy
I see a scary trend in our industry where in order to be useful to the community, you first need to prove that the contributor is on the "right side of history"
Motivation
As far as I know, there is a debate within the US about how legitimate it is to require an ID to vote in elections. I don't want to get political, but many people think that the very fact of requiring an ID is an infringement of freedom. I suggest discussing how applicable this is in the pull request policy.
Desired solution
I would like to live in a world where whether a PR will be accepted or rejected is determined based on the code, and not on the personality of the author, who is often impossible to change.
Considered alternatives
Either we slide into totalitarianism, where the speaker's opinion is less valuable than his citizenship/race/nation/whatever.
Ultimately, this will affect your privacy as well.

This is great, but it seems that enforcement has deviated from the law.
