Is this project still alive?

Looks like there was no commit since December 2021...

@loxy

This was asked in #108 and @alex-arica mentioned then:

The development of Kubegres will resume in June 2022. Until then I am extremely busy with the development of a new platform. Note that Kubegres is also used by that new platform with 18 separate clusters.

I see no activity since June 2022 but I do not know what this means.

Definitely concerning that we aren't even getting responses on issues. I fully understand being busy and needing to scale back development but some communication would be good.

Apologies for the delay to answer.

This project is still actively used by our support clients. However, they did not request new features as the currently available versions of Kubegres is sufficient for them.

We are involved in the development of a new platform with over 20 microservices where Kubegres is used. Consequently, new updates will happen. The reasons why updates are not happening earlier is because we are all busy with the development of that platform. We have completed the server sides work and are working on the front-end.

So far I have been very bad with estimates. I am hoping that the front-end will be completed by the end of November 2022. Once it is completed, we will work on new features for Kubegres.

The new versions of Kubegres will include volume resizing which was integrated with the latest versions of Kubernetes. It will integrate the latest version of the SDK Kubebuilder. Moreover, it will be tested with the latest versions of Postgres including version 15. We will also review some of the pull requests.

We will have to upgrade Kubegres before the new platform is launched, as we are heavily depending on Kubegres for the launch.

A new version of Kubegres 1.16 is available and it is compatible with Kubernetes 1.25 and it was upgraded to use the latest version of the framework Kubebuilder 3.6.0 : https://github.com/reactive-tech/kubegres/releases/tag/v1.16
