FWIW in java it just takes the "larger" of the two (int + long => long) which kind of makes sense...but would still be implicit :|
Hmm that's related though I'm not sure if it's an exact dupe, since #8140 refers to the output getting "mangled" whereas here it's somehow being duplicated [??] The underlying cause...
