search not working

Sometimes when opening the app the search doesn't work. Last time it started working after clicking on a random entry from the list below.
I have had this sometimes in the past, but not lately. I updated some of the support libraries, can you confirm if you still see it with the 5.7.4 release?

I do not know if it is related, but I found an easy to reproduce issue around selecting history entries and it seems Android fails to scroll ListView if it does not have focus. I make a little hack for that one: d97f29c1f39833985d743d9e4e35d6ec1d535468 It is possible that ends up fixing this one too, but not sure, since I could never properly reproduce this issue.
In my case it doesn't work only when a word starts with certain characters. Might be a different problem from the one described in this issue.
