feature request- faster language switching
similar in desire to: https://github.com/rdoeffinger/Dictionary/issues/34
I have to switch between several languages fairly regularly, and the two taps it take me to change can be a bit annoying, especially when I'm only flipping from one language and back again.
Ideally, when i press the language button it toggles from one to another. I.E. Spanish to English and back again, where a long press would open up the current dialog allowing a switch to a different dictionary entirely.
since I'd need to sometimes look up the enhlish word, i could do so, but then immediately after, look up a found word, one tap, and i'm ready to type.
I've found this dictionary to be incredibly useful.
For the translation dictionaries there is the 2 arrow symbol on the bottom that switches the translation direction. I am not sure if that is what you meant. I could imagine extending it to go back to the previous dictionary if you are using single-language dictionaries, is that your use-case?
Hi rdoeffinger, The arrows button is very helpful. I have several languages downloaded but my first language is English, so I find myself needing to switch both the translation direction, and also the translated language fairly often. a quick-cycle button would be helpful as well (I.E, if I'm on En-Es and looked up 'bread', I would be able to hit the language cycle and switch to En-Fr). Hope that helps.
So far (besides having little time to implement anything) I have not really thought of a way this could be implemented without using up much UI space, being intuitive to use, and behaviour somewhat predictable. The current switch translation direction button confuses people sometimes already. I guess I COULD imagine to have a setting that changes that button to switch through a user-configurable list instead of just the direction in one dictionary...
