microphone support

How can I redirect the microphone? I use -r sound:local and I get only playback redirection. rdesktop vershion is 1.8.3.

I'm afraid you can't. We currently do not support the microphone extension of the RDP protocol.

Is there anything we can do to help this become implemented? I’ve just set up the RDP server (xrdp on Linux) to allow audio, but in rdesktop it’s unidirectional, and xfreerdp just crashes for me (but I want to keep using rdesktop anyway, used it for a decade or so and it just works).

What's needed is developers looking at this, and the project is currently unmaintained. So anything you can do to attract more developers will help.
