Nice! To do that you'd just create a JIRA here: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HIVE and upload a patch containing the code!

Sorry I didn't see the message. You mean the whole serde ? Sure, I'd be happy to. Should I change the java package ?

I would change the java package but then create a deprecated class of the old name which simply inherits from the new class.
