Had reports that Python REPLs on Stanage can segfault when started by users with certain non-English locales on their own machines. Apparently particular to those on Macs so far and...

We received ticket SHEF240111534 from kiran which highlighted how vague the docs are. Something seems to have been lost with the edits to remove sharc
cos we've found it can cause environment issues on Stanage.
