Count Idle Time

I would like to see an option where we can count idle time as active time. I hardly ever use the mouse / keyboard, but I use voice recognition, which is not being counted as active time.

You should give "reading mode" a try ;-)

I currently have the micro "Break duration" set to 20s, so the timer gets reset after 20s of inactivity unless Reading Mode is set. So in Reading Mode it takes no account of my activity, and with Reading Mode off it constantly resets the timer every 20s of inactivity and I never get a micro break. It would be great to enable the user to specify the time of mouse/keyboard inactivity (say 3 minutes) before the timer is reset, 3 minutes being the sort of time to read a page/email.

I'm also asking for a field so that I can specify "inactivity time" when "Reading mode" is OFF. I don't want to use "Reading mode" because it resets timers after 5 seconds of inactivity which is very short and I never reach a break.

Hello:

And first of all thank you to all the developers for this very useful tool!

I think that what @drb01 asked for is exactly what I'm looking for. What I want is to be reminded every 20 minutes to look away during 20 seconds and to move away from the computer for 5 minutes every hour. So I set the app for a microbreak of 20 seconds every 20 minutes and for a restbreak of 5 minutes every hour. But the drawback of this setting is that if I don't use the mouse or the keyboard for 20 seconds, the microbreak is considered as done, despite it is often not the case! I tried to activate the reading mode but it applies to both microbreak and restbreak: if I move away from the computer for 5 minutes without locking it, the restbreak is not considered as done despite I'd like it to be.

It would be great to add one of these two options in the microbreak preferences screen:

  • A checkbox "Do not count idle time for the microbreak timer"
  • A new timer "Idle time" where I could input 5 minutes to ask the microbreak timer to be reset after this time of inactivity

@drb01: if it was not what you wanted just let me know and I will open a new case (or find another case that could fit).

Thanks in advance!
