I forgot to mention, even though your screen doesn't have buttons, you can use the curses driver in LCDproc to test with.

Thanks for the input!

I'll try to setup a similar, curses-based LCDproc driver to emulate buttons — that should help with unittesting the soft, too.

By the way, I'm not sure that the settings updates in the pull request are required for the feature to work, could you remove them?
