This is a great idea! There is a 1 frame delay in obtaining the layout size hence the interrupt in transition. Your proposal would be a good solution.

Is the resize happening on Web? If so, that's a known Flutter issue.

Would adding an ability to customize sizing per page be enough to resolve your issue?
