using backspace to undo conversion doesn't work

my phone is a samsung A70 running android 11. Everything's working well, but I've noticed that if you select an empty textbox and type anything that gets converted, backspace won't work on that. For it not to work, there must be no characters other than the converted ones according to the little testing I've done.

It's a minor bug, it probably won't be hard to fix (famous last words of many programmers)

here are all my settings:

• start and end strings: . and .
• quick mode: on
• LaTeX mode: off
• additional symbols: on
• keep space: off
• diacritics: on
