I think `change` sounds more like taking something out and putting something in, rather than modifying the contents of something. Imagine the repo/backup/snapshot is a bucket. Change is more like...
`modify` is definitely better than `change`. So either `rewrite` or `modify` out of what's been proposed so far. Curious what others think :)
