Live transcript saving
At the moment I think saving the transcript to a txt file only occurs after a stream/recording is done. Is it possible to commit new lines to the txt output in real time or after every line that is spoken?
Currently it just uses default behaviour so should flush whenever the buffer is full every couple KBs but adding an option for that in the future would be doable 🤔.
Just wanted to pop in and say I would love if this was an option. It would allow me to add it as a source, and I'd really like to have it available as a source so I can adjust the font/color/placement/et cetera for my stream layout (I have a fun idea to do with it).
Making an additional comment here, would be very useful to be able to feed this into other tools.
Made a potentially redundant post so I wanted to bump here as well. Although this discussion seems focused on the transcript, I think the functionality being requested would fit well into the Open Captions too. Sending the open captions to a text file and updating/clearing it accordingly instead of constantly updating the transcript file. Superhero makes a good point about it opening the possibility to integrate into other programs easily.
Big +1 for this. Saving e.g. last sentence/caption in some lastcaption.txt would be so useful. You could e.g. check the contents with Advanced Scene Switcher and execute a macro if text is matching. Endless automation possibilities.
I'd also love this feature. Has anyone figured out how to get access to the caption text in real time?
Use OBS localvocal. This is dead.
