enhancement request: variable names and events containing only blanks

current scratch 1.4 allows for variable names consisting of single or multiple blanks only. same for broadcast events.

Enhancement request:

  • do not allow for names and events containing only blanks
  • trim leading, trailing blanks from names and events

I agree that is a bad thing to allow. If it's old-scratch-compliant we need t tolerate it for now but may be able to improve it in the future

Old scratches actually allow this. I don't like it but changing it would break compatibility and might break some projects?
