Standardized pin names for HSTX to DVI breakouts for RP2350 boards?

Open WolfWings opened this issue 4 months ago • 1 comments

There's a plethora of different RP2350-based boards that each have standardized (for the board in question) but unique pinouts for attaching a DVI port to the HSTX pins, from the DVI 'sock' for the Pico 2 series, the various Adafruit boards with DVI adapters or dedicated built-in DVI ports, Waveshare's based on the RPi Zero form factor but which copies compatibility with the Pico 2 DVI sock, etc.

Would it be acceptable/possible to add some standardized pin names for the various Clock/Data0-2 negative/positive pins so that just switching board types correctly allows a codebase using the HSTX -> DVI tech to work without having to manually re-configure pin numbers?

Sounds like a good idea, but I've not looked at the HSTX stuff myself, so pinging @Wren6991 and @kilograham for their thoughts.
