Not geting /proc/device-tree/hat

I make a shield with the serial eprom flashed with my device description based on the provided tools. After rebooting, configuration of the gpio are not taken into account, in /proc/device-tree I do not see any HAT sub-directory... Why ? kernel : 3.18.7-v7+ in config.txt, i2c_vc is on.

I've done a rip-update to get firmware 3.18.10 and now the hat directory exists, I've got my entries in it. The documentation should precise what is the minimal version of firmware to support Hat.
