Recommended Lenses: FOV vs Field Angle terminology
The Recommended Lenses section:
- uses two different terms for the same concept:
Field Angle(CS lenses) andField of View(M12 lenses). I believe they can both use the same term - uses two different formats for this value:
WxH(CS lenses) andDxHxW(M12 lenses). Use the same format for both. If the diagonal isn't available for CS lenses, perhaps useWxH/WxH (D diagonal)
Some further comments on C/CS Lenses Table. Edited :-to follow @brianlow format suggestions
Propose that the entry for Aperture in the 16mm Telephoto lens column should be F1.4 to F16 rather than F1.4 to 1.6.
The Field Angle entries for various (unrelated to HQ or GS) arcane x/x.x sensor formats aren't particularly useful and may even be misleading.
Propose that the entries be the achieved field angles (Field of View) for each lens type on the specific HQ and GS sensor formats. e.g.
16mm telephoto 6mm wide angle
Field of View HQ 22.2° x 16.7° 55° x 45°
GS 17.8° x 13.4° 45° x 34°
These values are only estimates, not measured values, for the two lens types!
Similarly for the M12 Lenses table the achieved Fields of View seem to be for the maximum image size formats that the lenses have been designed for. So only the Fish Eye entry has the correct values, (as the HQ sensor is an 1/2.3" device).
Propose that the table entries become:-
HQ Field of View H x V (D)
72.64°/57.12°/42.44° becomes 49° x 36° (62°)
18.3°/14.7°/11.1° becomes 14.4° x 10.9° (17.9°)
184.6°/140°/102.6° becomes 140° x 102.6° (184.6°)
