New App Icon for ShelfPlayer 3.0
With the release of ShelfPlayer 3.0, it could be a good opportunity to introduce a new app icon that better reflects the main use case: listening to audiobooks.
The first version of the new icon was created using the new Icon Composer introduced in Xcode 26 (A reference to the current icon is attached as well) The full AppIcon.icon file is too large to attach here and will be added in a pull request if the new design is accepted.
I would love to get some feedback on the design or any additional ideas.

Seems nice. Alternatives could be use of speaker or headset, but they do not look so well (I am not a right one to draw them 😅 )
not sure why you chose a headset as headphones would be more suitable. Actually the speaker or the headphone make a lot more sense than the rotate Wifi symbol.
I am terrible at painting so used chat to generate them. Ofcourse I forget to specify type of headphones and didn't want to generate them again.
I think both of your suggestions are too complex for an app icon. They would not work well in a smaller list view, such as in the Settings app, and the transparency settings you chose in the Composer do not look very balanced. I would at least leave the choice to the user. I think the old icon is fine as it is.
ShelfPlayer 3.0.0 is compiled with Xcode 16.4. Otherwise it cannot be release on iOS 18 util fall. I will look into this after the release.

you mean iOS 26?
I like the one with the three wave lines, but I also like the current bookmark one. I think either are great.
Just want to chime in that I think the original icon of just the bookmark emblem is beautiful and should remain the main icon. The simplicity is perfect and if these more complex icons that have to spell out 'the icon shows that it's for audio!' are implemented, at least make them optional. No notes on the original.
I agree that the current icon is much better than the proposed new ones.
Podcasts are frequently represented by the actual rss icon so try using that instead of the three lines. Microphones are also common. Of course then it's hard to distinguish your app, which the current icon does so well.
If you want to focus on audiobooks instead, the current icon already does that incredibly well. Simple, elegant, obvious, striking, and professional.
