Listening time
When looking at the listening time on the web client, many time the times when listening on ShlefPlayer are not correct. It appears that it counts the time while the book is paused in the background as listening time.
I have this issue too. Every night when I start a audiobook with sleeptimer 45 minutes I see playback of over 8 hours on the next day in Audiobookshelf statistics. If I remember correctly this wasn't so if I listened to downloaded books. Only on streaming.
I am currently reworking the tracking logic, but it takes time...
I have downloaded my book yesterday and listened the downloaded version with sleep timer. It worked correctly. So I can now confirm, that this problem only exists when streaming.
The problem is that ABS listening sessions can only be open or closed, not paused. I am currently updating the tracking logic and I think I can improve it, but there are certain limitations to work around.
What will be the problem, if the session is everytime closed if playback in app is paused and the session will be opened again when playback ist starting?
It may cause problems when transcoding and it's still messy.
I'm having the same problem where the listening time on the web client sometimes shows as longer than the actual listening time, and I've downloaded all the audiobooks.
The listening time tracking has been greatly improved in version 3.0.0 and there is a "listened today" tracker on the home panel now.
