64drive frozen

Open willis82 opened this issue 3 years ago • 6 comments

getting an error: "64Drive seems frozen please reset it" when trying to simply reach the 64drive (using windows 10). How do you reset the 64Drive? It obtains the serial number so some communication is happening. Tried unplugging the usb to reset it, this did not work.

Are you using VMware? I’ve had similar issues communicating with 64drives when running Windows inside VMware.

It looks like I can't seem to find a good solution for this timeout. I have increased it again.

@willis82 @command-tab can you maybe test it again? You can build latest master, or download it from here: https://github.com/rasky/g64drive/releases/tag/v9test

Windows 10 is the actual OS on the machine, I can test it again and report back with the results. I also plan to try on an older windows 98 PC (assuming drivers all work out). The command prompt under windows 10 could potentially be the issue. I was hoping your tools might be a solution to the issues that come up when using windows 10 and the oem 64drive tools.

On windows 10 it should work correctly once we fix the timeout issue. Let me know, otherwise we can increase it even more.

On windows 98 there's no hope though, I'm sorry. Its too old.

Still get the error: 64Drive seems frozen, please reset it. Is this error due to a timeout issue or another issue?

The last version was waiting up to 2 seconds, I would say it's unrealistic to need a longer timeout, considering that 25ms is sufficient on Linux and Mac. I'm increasing it up to ~10 seconds just in case. Can you please try this again? https://github.com/rasky/g64drive/releases/tag/v10test

Do you confirm it waits between 5 and 10 seconds before the error shows up?
