Geometric symbols only sometimes rendering correctly.
I have the weirdest issue. I'm using a Starship prompt which renders multi-coloured arrows much like powerline (not sure if these are powerline or nerdfont symbols) and they work in split panes but not in single tabs. Probably a screen recording is the best way to illustrate this:
Currently running on macOS 15.5 but I will also check on Debian/Gnome/Wayland tonight.
Here's my rio config and my starship config.
Can confirm with Wayland on Debian using Flatpak package.
Hey @jimsynz thanks for the issue, the issue was the clear that causes it goes to the side?
or the gapping that happened
aaaaaaaa sorry i understood it now
Tested on Windows, latest rio nightly release, prompt used: oh-my-posh's kushal theme
This happens when you are using an app with either of these two icons
I'm not sure about the inverse version of these two though
which leads it to becoming a straight bar.
this behaviour only exists for the top left split. if you use any other split, the icon will be rendered properly. but if you use the top left split (ie keyboard events go to the top left panel), you get the behaviour back
top right split being active
top left split being active
but there is another catch. for the above to happen, you need navigation.unfocused-split-opacity set to anything but 1. setting to 1, causes this to happen regardless of which split is active
I just noticed this super weirdness today. I should point out that I had Claude Code running in another pane and it's pretty heavy handed with it's animations.

it doesnt seem like a claude problem, ive had Textual apps running with way too much animations for the terminal
it definitely has something to do with terminal

fwiw i am also confused 😆
@jimsynz can you check if it happens on v0.2.21
Still the same behaviour on macOS I'm afraid. I'll check Linux later tonight.
