Opactiy in rio looks different from other applications

I've set all my applications that support opacity/transparency to have a transparency of 0.8 (thanks to stylix) however this looks slightly different from the way other applications treat an opacity of 0.8, i've included an example screenshot of neovide on the left, rio in the middle and alacritty on the right, they are all configured with an opacity of 0.8.

Yes, specifically cosmic and sway are where i've experienced this

As of rio 0.2.32 I also noticed inconsistencies with the opacity (using wayland/niri). For me, 0.95 opacity is fully opaque and e.g. 0.8 is too transparent. Here's a screenshot of rio and foot both with 0.8 opacity:
