glusterfs: mount storage from location on host

Open ndarilek opened this issue 8 years ago • 0 comments

Not hugely familiar with Gluster and want to start using it via this entry, but it looks like snapshotting and other advanced features require LVM. Any chance the data container might be able to mount /var/lib/gluster from an LVM volume on the host?

Or is there more to it than simply placing the storage on an LVM mount? I only want LVM so I can take snapshotted, online backups. Is there some other way to back up a storage pool created by this container that is safe to perform live?

Thanks.
