squeezelite-pulse sync issues

Currently running squeezelite-pulse-2.0.0.1473 although the synchronization is pretty bad, silence at the beginning in some player and then constant skipping of the track being played.

I've tried running squeezelite-pulse as default (no arguments) and then I tried playing with the

-a 160:4::  (for sample rate)
-b 2000:6000 (for buffer size etc)

but nothing seems to improve the sync behavior of squeezelite-pulse players. ALSA everything works great... Although I do have other apps running that needs access to the sound device and for that reason I'm force to use pulse.

any ideas?
