Restore deleted password from recycle bin

Open giantrule opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

I see the app make me easily delete accounts. In an unexpected situation, if I have just deleted an account but then I realize my mistake, I hope we have a recycle bin to restore that key. Please consider it. Thanks for your hard work

Hi @giantrule,

With account, do you mean an OTP token, or the entire Raivo OTP account?

Hi @tijme Sorry for late response. My suggestion is an individual token. Moreover, if there is an solution for both case you mentioned, that’s great.

My suggestion is an entire Raivo OTP account :) I removed it but expected its config/data to be backupped to iCloud storage.

It's hard to see that was not the case 😩

@topscoder If you use iCloud sync, the data is backupped to CloudKit, so you can just reinstall the app and use iCloud sync again to recover the entries. If you chose "Offline/NoSync" as sync method, there is no backup, and you need to backup manually using the settings -> export to ZIP-archive action.

Indeed it is easy to accidentally delete single tokens by swiping to the left. Even though there is an additional confirmation required it is still to easy to delete a token.

Given the importance of tokens in general, they should not be able to be deleted just by a swipe + confirmation.

Solution could be to add it into the “edit” mode somewhere at the bottom.

This should be one of the top priority changes please.
