on discovery failure, would be nice to show more info

people are often confused about why discovery failed. one example is #75 but i've seen it several times.

we can:

1. display some static helper text when discovery fails. something along the lines of "for discovery to work, make sure your endpoint responts to pings, resolves publically, and responds to either http or https" or something like that.

and/or

2. show more detailed diagnostics, like the actual output of our tests (host doesn't resolve, ping timeout, connection refused)

This would be really helpful, the detail of the diagnostics would be better in my opinion. Maybe don't show by default, but give an option to.

I see the error details in the alert. Maybe this issue was raised before the alert existed? Or are you looking for more detail?
