In the bottom one, the background extends beyond the rounded border.
This is the biggest software bug that I have ever seen. It is the bug with the size of the universe :)
@RokeJulianLockhart This issue is specific to Firefox. The background sometimes extends randomly, not just when the cover modal appears. No idea how to fix it—any suggestions are welcome!

@exentrich, if it doesn't reproduce on Chrome, I can take it to Mozilla, especially if you can provide a minimal reproducible sample. I'm unfortunately no extension developer, so I can't assist much otherwise.
