Saved indicator not working in Firefox extension for imported links
I imported a large number of links to Raindrop from Pocket but the "saved" indicator in the Raindrop Firefox extension doesn't seem to recognize them when I visit the sites even though a (third party) Pocket extension I still have installed does. In some cases I think it might have to do with not ignoring a "/" at the end of a URL but not sure if that's all the cases. In some cases when I actually click the extension it recognizes that it's saved, but it doesn't show the saved indicator. It does recognize them for links that I added manually. In at least some cases I noticed that the URL bar shows it as having a "/' at the end but the entry in the Raindrop app doesn't, so that why it could be part of the problem.
Can you please try again? Should be fixed now
I'm still seeing this, for example with https://mediagazer.com/, even though when I click it shows the site as saved. But the indicator is not there.
Make sure Saved indicator is enabled https://help.raindrop.io/browser-extension#saved-indicator
Saved page indicator is enabled and so are all permissions, but I still see the issue.
I'm experiencing this in Chrome as well.
Imported links correctly show as saved when clicking the extension, but the check mark doesn't show up for them on the icon.
I've tried enabling the Highlights permission, disabling and re-enabling the Saved page indicator permission, as well as Clear site data through DevTools (methods covered in https://raindropio.canny.io/bugs/p/blue-saved-check-icon-not-working-again), to no avail.
Yes, still having this issue as well.
Yes, still having this issue as well.
me too.
Hi, I'm still having this issue 😭
I created a new raindrop account just to test again this issue. I imported bookmarks from HTML file exported from firefox (about 32000 bookmarks and 1900 nested folders).
Again I got some bookmarks for which saved indicator doesn't work. In the same collection I have some bookmarks that work and other that don't. Quite strange.
I did a test with a particular bookmark that doesn't work:
- loaded the bookmark from list of bookmarks in raindrop.
- verified that saved indicator is not turned on.
- verified that the loaded url is still the same as the saved one (could be different because of redirect)
- removed the bookmark
- added again the bookmark
- verified that now the saved indicator is turned on.
I believe that the import process is doing something different from when I add a bookmark manually. Maybe the import doesn't set some flag or other important info in the db?
I really want to use raindrop but I can't until this issue is resolved. I can even send you my HTML bookmarks file if you want, so you could test and verify the issue. Please let me know.
Thanks.
Currently, only the 10,000 most recent links are stored locally to power the “saved” indicator. If you have more than that, the oldest links won’t be included. I recently updated our API to extend this limit to 50,000 for Pro users.
These limits work well for most people, but if you have significantly more bookmarks, the oldest ones still won’t show the saved indicator. I plan to improve this logic in the future if I find a better solution.
Hello, thanks for answering me. So do you confirm that if I upgrade to Pro then I can see the saved indicator for all of my bookmarks? (I have less than 50000).th Please let me know. thanks.
