Ability to 'Remove Organizer' and still maintain as 'Volunteer'
I just noticed the new (to me) Chapters listing, which lists all Events & Organizers for individual Chapters -- for example:
https://www.bridgetroll.org/chapters/43
We had been adding new organizers as Organizers to prior events, so they could look around & learn / copy from prior events. However, now it looks like each of our events had lots Organizers.
To fix this, to give a more accurate historical picture of who actually has experience organizing events, I originally thought to use the 'Manage Organizers' functionality in the Organizers Console to remove these extra Organizers, but this actually removes them entirely from the event, even though they did attend & volunteer.
Not sure what happens when a Volunteer is assigned as an Organizer...if it's possible to distinguish which originally signed up as a Volunteer vs which were assigned as an Organizer from the general pool of BridgeTroll users.
Ideally, would like to be able to Remove from list of Organizers, but still retain as Volunteer, including:
- class level preference
- teach vs TA preference
- dietary preferences
- session check-ins
- location within 'Arrange Class Sections' page
Is this possible?
Hey @kmolo, I don't think this is a feature I want to add to Bridge Troll, but I do want to work with you to get the non-organizers changed to volunteers for each of those events, and also figure out what functionality we could add to make it so adding people as organizers isn't necessary to your workflow. (There are different RSVP types, including volunteer, organizer, and student, and we can change those people's RSVP type from organizer to volunteer without changing the other parts of their RSVP.)
I think we've talked at some point about having per-chapter default workshop text, so people don't have to copy and paste from the last workshop. Are there other places (perhaps reminder emails?) where giving someone access was primarily so they could copy-paste stuff?
I'm not sure what the best solution would be for the look around the app use case — would more documentation of the features of the app be helpful? More screenshots somewhere? Just better UX throughout the entire organizer console? 😳
