Not getting data when running on Mac M1 chip

Hi Rahul, experimenting with your EIT code. When I run the code on Windows the data comes in and is plotted. When the same code (adjusted for the USB port and the Baud rate specific to the Mac) is run on a Macbook Pro (with M1 chip) it gets stuck in the infinite loop of checking for data availability. Do you have any advice on whether there is something specific to Windows in the code that still needs to change? Has anyone else tried it on a Mac that you know? Thank you in advance! Yuliya
